The full edition of DATASTOR Shield Professional supports scanning of NAS locations through mapped drives for data protection. However, due to Microsoft UAC settings the mapped drives may not be visible in the software.
With default UAC settings enabled, the software runs with elevated permissions, but Windows mapped drives run with standard permissions, causing the software not to see Windows mapped drives. To resolve the matter, add the registry entry below.
Another option would be to map a drive from within the software using the 'add storage' wizard since the mapped drive would be created using elevated permissions and thus would be visible within the software (but not in Windows).

Open the registry editor (regedit.exe);
Go to the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System;
Create a new parameter (DWORD type) with the name EnableLinkedConnections and the value 1 ;
