If you used Viewstor Explorer, aka point-in-time explorer, to copy/paste or drag and drop or ‘save as’ files that you do not have permission to access, you will receive an ‘access is denied’ message.
If that is the case, right click the file or folder in point in time explorer, and select ‘restore’. If you need to work with the files after the restore, you will have to take ownership of the files, then change permissions.
