Store appears offline with a red X in Archive Manager

This article describes an issue where the Archive Manager user interface is improperly displaying online stores with a red x on the store icon and does not allow adding new store tasks.

A hotfix is available to resolve the issue for those systems that match the description in the CAUSE section below.

Enterprise Protection Server 2013 or Scalable Protection Server 2013 has been installed on Microsoft Windows Server 2003 or Server 2003 R2. The user interface, Archive Manager, has previously been configured with one or more stores for backups. Archive Manager displays the store or stores with a red x under the Storage > All Stores node in the left pane. Although the store is available for protection plans, restore points can be accessed in the Archives subfolder, and existing store tasks can execute, the store action and contextual menu to 'add a store task' is missing.

Contact DATASTOR support to confirm that the issue applies to your installation and to obtain a hotfix to resolve the matter.
